"Ambitous style and sound technique... and then some!"

Chef Patron Robert Kisby welcomes you to Cabbage Hall, Little Budworth

Robert Kisby has amassed over 35 years in delivering quality cuisine and hospitality throughout the North West and Cheshire.

In more recent years Robert is acclaimed for his success in opening The Bridgewater Hall, Manchester’s International Concert Hall; his time as Chef Manager at Le Mont restaurant Manchester; and his eighteen months overseeing the kitchen at the Cock O’Barton.

The Cabbage Hall Restaurant

Add to this pedigree many National and Regional awards including the Gold Award at the 07 Chester Food Festival; 5 Grading in the Good Food Guide; 2AA Rosettes; Life Magazine’s Best Restaurant in three different establishments; North West Chef of the Year 2004… not least his position as one of the few North West Chefs awarded the Cordon Culinaire by the Conseil Culinaire Francais… and it’s hard not to see why Robert Kisby is synonymous with exceptional cooking to the highest level.

Having recently taken to the helm of Cabbage Hall in Little Budworth, Cheshire Robert Kisby is proud to continue his passion for sourcing local produce from across the county.

Rich in seasonal local ingredients, his menus showcase the very best of the North West. Expect to taste Deemster House Lamb, pure bred Hereford Beef from Meadow Bank Farm Malpas, Peter Jones’ Wirral watercress, Dick’s Asparagus (from just a field or two away from Cabbage Hall) and Kelsall fruit farm’s seasonal berries to name but a few.

The provenance of his food is of utmost importance to Robert Kisby. His passion for knowing where ingredients are from and they came to be infuses each dish on his imaginative menus. No detail is overlooked and the onus is steadfastly upon quality.

Anyone fortunate enough to be dining at Cabbage Hall – for a leisurely family lunch, light supper, intimate dining or special celebration – will experience the ‘Kisby Effect’.

This is how his unique style of cuisine has been described and having led his last establishment to three coveted Regional awards and a Best Newcomer nomination in the 2008 Northern Hospitality Awards, in Cabbage Hall Robert is poised to enjoy his ‘finest hour’.

With everything from comfort food to share and themed platters to ‘one plate’ dishes, guests can look forward to Classic Cuisine presented in a modern style. Traditional dishes with a twist; a la carte choices; Signature dishes… all complemented by an extensive cellar including Robert’s personal Chef’s Cellar recommendations.

"Cabbage Hall was everything that we hoped it would be...and more! The food, wines and service were of the highest standard - the canapés were spectacular - which, when coupled with the very comfortable and elegant surroundings, gave all forty of us the perfect evening to follow a hard day's racing at Chester! Our guests were extremely well looked after and very impressed. We will be back!!"
